Van Meter High School has a few hundred kids. Middle school through high school all have one to one computers. These computers give the kids at Van Meter the ability to learn more and work more with technology. Van Meter's mascot is a bulldog, and the sports offered are basketball, volleyball, softball, football, baseball, track, golf, cheerleading and rugby.
This year the varsity volleyball team went to semifinals and the football team went to the second round in the state playoffs. Many people from Van Meter have gone to state in different things such as sports, academics, and the arts. Van Meter is an advanced school and the grades are increasing. Land across from the school has been purchased for future development.The largest class in the school is 58 students and is currently our senior class. There are 44 teachers in the school and the enrollment this year was 207 students. It's a small school but it's nice to know everyone in your grade along with most people in the grades around you.
